End Polio Now - Rotary's Number One Goal

Rotary's priority project is to eradicate Polio worldwide. From over 350,000 cases every year in the late 80's to less than 40 in 2016, great progress has been made. But we aren't there yet -- not until there are no cases worldwide. The Rotary Club of Le Sueur, with community support via our fundraisers, has been a leader in Rotary District 5960 (parts of MN and WI) in donating to the End Polio Now campaign. In the July 2015-June 2016 period, our club was third out of 63 clubs in financial contribution to this program.

Turkey Trot

Thanks to all who participated Turkey Trot 2016, whether that be by running, walking, or donating. All of the proceeds will go to the Le Sueur Food Shelf and the Le Sueur Backpack Program. Turkey Trot 2017 will be held on Thanksgiving Day. Watch for details on this website by early October!

Backpack Program

Each week we will pack approximately 100 bags of food to be distributed to local children in need of additional nutritional support during out of school days. This program is sponsored by the Le Sueur Rotary Club along with donations from local business and community members. The Le Sueur Lions Club is a partner in this service project. In December 2016, Le Sueur Rotarians also packed over 70 "Christmas Bags" with Christmas meals for families. A picture of some of those bags is seen to the left of this text.

Polinator Project with Hilltop Elementary and Ney Center

In this Rotary Club of Le Sueur project in conjunction with the Ney Center, Hilltop Elementary School 4th and 5th Grade students learn about the importance of pollinators -- from bees to bats -- and create pollinator habitat.
