STRIVE – Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education
STRIVE (Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education) is a Le Sueur Rotary sponsored mentoring program. It builds awareness of the value of attending school and preparing for future careers. Rotarians inspire and mentor a group of Le Sueur-Henderson High School seniors. Students commit to attending meetings, improving their grades, preparing a Career Action Plan, and graduating on time.
Rotarians and students meet every two weeks during the school year. Topics include:
- Goal setting
- Study skills
- Career interests
- Options after high school
- Applying for jobs
- Seeking financial aid
- Creating a plan after high school graduation
Students, mentors, parents, school staff and special guests have a year-end event to recognize student successes..
